Electro-pop duo Dream Chief will headline a concert to kick off summer at Brownsburg Town Hall Green. Friday Fest will feature the popular Indianapolis-based performers along with a DJ and two other up-and-coming bands from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 25. Dream Chief’s members are cousins John and Luke Tuttle, who create music influenced by 80s synth pop with catchy guitar leads and layered synthesizers. Named among Do317’s Local Bands You Should Be Listening To, the 22-year-olds have become one of the most promising new acts from the Midwest. They have shared stages with Portugal. The Man, Phantogram, Bishop Briggs, Flint Eastwood, and many others. Dream Chief’s singles “Can’t Shake U” and “Novocaine” have racked up more than a million plays on Spotify, and their new single “Payphone” was released in February. DJ Fly Ty Simmons will get the show started, followed by Take Four, a funky young five-piece band from Fishers whose new EP drops this month. Filling out the bill is Moment 44, a dynamic trio of siblings from Fairfield, Ohio. The self-taught musicians’ first album “Welcome to the Carnival” was released in 2016. The Town’s event staff worked with Brownsburg High School’s DECA Club marketing students to plan entertainment and activities that appeal to a young, active audience. Friday Fest concert-goers will enjoy action-packed carnival games and an inflatables playground, including the eliminator, quad bungee trampoline, and human “whack-a-mole.” Food trucks Brozinni Pizzeria, Chomp'z, BOXBURGER, Lazy J's and the Ice Barn will offer concessions. The free, all-ages event will be a great way to celebrate the last day of school and kick start summer.
