Tickets for Heroes are available at the door ($15 adult, $12 senior, $7 student with I.D.) Discounted advance tickets may be purchased online atwww.HendricksSymphony.org or at the Hendricks County Flyer, the Danville, Brownsburg and Clayton-Liberty Township Public Libraries, and Hendricks County branches of the State Bank of Lizton.
The Hendricks Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, under the direction of Benjamin G. Del Vecchio, will present Heroes – The Music of Freedom, on Friday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 25 at 3 p.m. at Avon Middle School North (1251 Dan Jones Rd, Avon.) The concert will begin with works by Beethoven beginning with Egmont Overture. Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy featuring Amy Eggleston piano will follow. Choral Fantasy will also feature solo performances by Meagan Searles Todd (Soprano), Becky Barton (Alto), David Mannell (Tenor) and Thaddaeus Bourne (Bass.) Beethoven’s European Anthem will conclude the first half of the concert featuring a side-by-side performance by the Brownsburg Middle School Strings directed by Laura Crawford.
The second half of the program will feature three dances from The Firebird Ballet by Stravinsky, Romance from Lt. Kije Suite by Prokofiev, Intermezzo from Hary Janos Suite by Kodaly and Variations on America by Ives.
