Description
Dispose of household hazardous waste, Hendricks County! On Saturday April 1 from 8am-1pm at the Brownsburg High School (1000 S. Odell), Hendricks County Solid Waste Management Districk will be accepting various items for disposal.
Certain household items we all own and use should always be disposed of properly. The following items will be accepted free of charge, at our event to ensure their proper disposal: Oil Based Paint, Cleaners, Flourescent Light Bulbs, Adhesives, Acidic and Basic Chemicals, Motor Oil Filters, Old Fuels (gasoline, kerosene), Mercury, Rechargable Batteries, Paint Thinner/Remover, Stain and Varnish, Driveway Sealer, Pool Chemicals, Antifreeze, Fertilizers, Pesticides/Herbicides, Sharps, Computer Components.
Additionally, the following "hard to dispose of" items will be accepted for a reduced disposal fee: CFC Appliances (refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers) for $10 each, Non-CFC Appliances (stoves, washers, dryers, microwaves, dishwashers, electronics) for $5 each, Televisions-standard $20 each, console $25 each, Tires-car (6 free, $2 per additional tire up to 12)-truck (2 free, $6 per additional tire up to 6)-farm (2 free, $15 per additional tire up to 6).
The following items WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED at this event: Asbestos, Lab Chemicals, Used Motor Oil, Explosives, Ammunition or Firearms, Alkaline Batteries, Radioactive Materials, Propane Tanks, Medical or Infectious Wastes and Tires on Rims.

The Tox-Away Day events are only open to residents of Hendricks County. Businesses are prohibited from using this event.
